SEASON'S OF CHILDHOOD

by Laura Hoyt

Playing in the sandbox,

swimming in the pool.

Oh what fun we have each day

in the SUMMER keeping cool.

Jumping in the leaves,

eating pumpkin pie.

Making shapes in the clouds above,

as the AUTUMN sky floats by.

Building snow forts, snowmen too

on WINTER days so long.

Hot chocolate by the fire,

as we sing favorite holiday songs.

SPRING at last is drawing near,

Under the Sycamore tree we lie.

Catching lady bugs, grasshoppers

and other things that fly.

As my twin and I grow older,

what we cherish most of all,

Are the SEASONS of our childhood,

Spring, Summer, Winter and Fall
